January 15, 9:30-11:30a: Introduction to Digital Photography/P+S Cameras
+ this short class is for new owners of compact digital cameras. Though compact cameras are supposed to be simple, they can have an overwhelming number of features. This class will seek to address the most-commonly used features – what they are, when to use them, and how to take advantage of what compacts can deliver! Topics to be covered: downloading images, flash, ISO, exposure compensation, and more.
January 17, 9:30-11:30a: Basic DSLR Photo Concepts
+Did you get a new DSLR for Christmas and don’t know how to use it? This 2-hour workshop will cover basic photo-concepts like shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and focal length. The aim of this class is not to cover every feature of the digital camera, but to help students decipher all the numbers appearing in your viewfinder. At the end of this class, students should have more confidence in using their camera and be able to boldly begin experimenting with the camera’s many features!
January 22+29, 6:30-9:00p: Basic Photo Concept for DSLR Users (SOLD OUT)
+This two-evening class spends much time covering basic photo concepts so that new camera owners will come away understanding how to take advantage of their cameras. Much emphasis will be put on stepping away from the automatic modes of the camera and stepping towards the more semi-automatic ones, where the user has more control! Topics covered will be shutter speed, aperture, ISO, lens focal lengths, flash and anything else we can squeeze in!
February 21+28, 6:30-9:00p, Basic Photo Concepts for DSLR Users

For all classes, students are expected to bring their camera – with battery fully charged – and their instruction manual, if they have one.
One-session classes cost $20/person or $30/couple. Two-session classes cost $30/person. Preregistration is required, as these classes often fill up!
